Lesley Erin Rice-Oyler began dancing at the age of three in Ramsey, England with teachers from the Royal Ballet. She continued her training with the York School of Ballet in York County, Virginia. She attended the Science Academy at Lyndon Baines Johnson High School in Austin, Texas where she was an officer on the drill team. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University where she auditioned and became a member of the Repertory Dance Company. She accumulated the hours necessary for a dance minor. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Biology, with honors. After graduation she pursued agricultural studies which led her and her family to Blanco, Texas where she owns and operates a wholesale specialty greens business. After her daughters were born and showed a love for dance, it rekindled her desire to learn, teach, and move. She is currently training in the Cecchetti methodology of teaching children ballet technique. She has completed the first four levels of student training and the first level of the professional work. She also has received a Teacher Training Certificate in Creative Dance from the renowned Anne Green Gilbert, director of the Kaleidoscope Dance Company and the Creative Dance Center. She decided to open a dance school in Blanco to bring an integrated approach to dance training. This approach allows and encourages expression and creativity in a structured and supportive environment. This environment gives children the confidence to explore technique and their own individual movement style. She hopes to eventually establish a dance company, in Blanco, that will exemplify this integrated approach.
